PanDao Update 1.2.8

Today we made a big update to the PanDao tool. As a new feature, we added a glossary to the report. It shows the used technology names and gives references to further literature.

Another feature is the “allow block fabrication” option in the options section of the parameter input page. If it is not selected, block fabrication will be ignored. The default option is that block fabrication is allowed as it was before the update.  Also, the exclude OFTT button changed. New it’s possible to ignore centering technologies as well. That’s why we gave the button a new name.

For better usability, we added two new errors: The first is an error which is produced if no applicability or no level of maturity is selected. At least one option of each must be selected. The second added error is thrown when for the midspatials a value below 0.008 is set when asking for an asphere, freeform or off-axis-asphere. Please note that no request is lost if PanDao throws an error.

For easier input of lens data, it’s now possible to set the roughness as P value instead of a number.

In addition, it’s not necessary for spheres and cylinders to input the saggita value anymore. It is now internally calculated.

For bugfixes we fixed the broken FQA link and added them all together into one file. We cleaned up the report a little.  We added more digits to the serial batch time and sharpened the calculation for it. We renamed the first batch lead time to prototyping lead time and removed the “double sided” quote and simplified the naming for precision glass molding because some confusion was caused.

As for the other updates we updated our internal technology data base to stay up to date.

Thanks a lot to all the people who gave us feedback about PanDao. It helps us a lot to improve our tool and gives you a better experience using it. Keep them coming!
