We are very proud to have won the second prize of the 2020 Suvorov Competition and published our joint results in a scientific, full journal paper in Russia: https://ntv.ifmo.ru/file/article/19930.pdf

The paper presents the idea of combining various stages of production of optical devices in a single logical sequence from the design of optical elements, through the mechanical and technological production stages, to the calculation of their manufacturing cost. As an example, a pinhole lens for mobile phone cameras as they are booming now is analyzed in the paper.

As for the name of the competition: Alexander Suvorov was a Russian general who fought some spectacular battles in the Swiss alps during the second coalition war (1799 – 1801). You can find out more about him here.
